Throughout the five-thousand-year civilization of the Chinese nation, traditional Chinese medicine, as an essential component of traditional culture, has consistently borne the mission of safeguarding people's health and carrying forward national wisdom. From the theoretical foundation of the Huangdi Neijing to the practical guidance of Zhang Zhongjing's medical system, and further to the benevolent hearts and skills of generations of physicians, Chinese medicine has always been closely intertwined with the destiny of the nation. In the new era, traditional Chinese medicine is not only a continuation of tradition but has also been entrusted with the important mission of serving a Healthy China and promoting cultural confidence. To celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, we present a special report on Tian Guoying, a —— inheritor of traditional Chinese medicine's intangible cultural heritage.

1. 传承：从历史中汲取智慧，以匠心守护国粹

Inheritance: drawing wisdom from history and protecting national treasures with ingenuity

田国营，又名田野，是中医非物质文化遗产“菜篮公”传承人，也是全国首批非遗大国工匠。近三十年来，他始终致力于中医药理论与实践的融合与创新，担任国医名师传承委员会首届委员、中国国际科技促进会中医药传承创新分会特约研究员、多国驻华大使馆特邀中医顾问。他的身上，既有着传统医者的仁心与坚守，又具备现代企业家的视野与魄力。

Tian Guoying, also known as Tian Ye, is the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage "Cailan Gong" in traditional Chinese medicine and one of China's first national-level master artisans in intangible cultural heritage. Over the past three decades, he has consistently dedicated himself to the integration and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine theory and practice. He served as a member of the inaugural committee of the National Master Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Committee, a special researcher for the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance and Innovation Branch of the China International Science and Technology Promotion Association, and a specially invited TCM consultant for multiple embassies in China. He embodies both the compassion and perseverance of traditional practitioners and the vision and courage of modern entrepreneurs.

健康，是人类生存和发展的基石，不仅关乎个人福祉，还深刻影响家庭幸福与社会稳定。健康的核心价值在于其多维性--涵盖身体、心理、社会适应和道德健康，是实现人生目标、提升生活质量的根本保障。

Health serves as the cornerstone of human survival and development, impacting not only individual well-being but also family happiness and social stability. Its core value lies in its multidimensional nature – encompassing physical, psychological, social adaptation, and moral health – which forms the fundamental guarantee for achieving life goals and enhancing quality of life.

凭借在产业创新与公益领域的突出贡献，田国营收获了诸多荣誉，先后获评“2025年度大健康领域品牌人物”“2025年度（25周年）特别贡献人物”“新时代非遗文化传播大使”“2023年度公益爱心使者”“2024年度公益创新人物”等称号。

For his outstanding contributions to industrial innovation and public welfare, Tian Guoying has been honored with numerous accolades, including "Brand Figure in the Health Industry for 2025", "Special Contribution Figure of the Year (25th Anniversary)", "Ambassador for Intangible Cultural Heritage Promotion in the New Era", "Public Welfare Ambassador of the Year 2023", and "Public Welfare Innovation Figure of the Year 2024".

Just as the essence of the War of Resistance against Japan lies in resilience and self-reliance, Tian Guoying's journey in traditional Chinese medicine is a Long March of perseverance and innovation. He often says: "TCM is not just a healing art, but also the cultural DNA that sustains the Chinese nation's vitality." This conviction has enabled him to steadfastly anchor tradition while embracing the future amidst the tides of our era.

1. 产业：以本草文化赋能健康中国

从创立“田字本草”“亿亩花田”“田仙医”等品牌，到布局覆盖研发、生产、医疗、文创的产业链闭环，田国营构建了一个以“本草文明”为内核的健康生态系统。他提出“内调外养、医养结合”，将中医药智慧融入日常生活的方方面面，从护肤品到茶饮，从膳食方案到康养服务，让千年本草真正“走进万家灯火”。

From pioneering brands like "Tianzi Bencao", "Yimou Huatian", and "Tianxianyi" to establishing a closed-loop industrial chain spanning R&D, production, healthcare, and cultural innovation, Tian Guoying has built a health ecosystem rooted in the philosophy of "Bencao Civilization". He advocates for "internal regulation combined with external nourishment, integrating medical care with wellness practices", embedding traditional Chinese medicine wisdom into daily life through skincare products, herbal teas, dietary plans, and wellness services. This approach brings millennia-old herbal wisdom into modern households, making it truly accessible to every household.

他的产业实践，不仅是对中医药现代化路径的积极探索，更是对“健康中国”战略的积极响应。正如抗战时期军民一心、共克时艰，今日的健康事业同样需要多方协同、全民参与。田国营用产业的方式，让中医药成为连接传统与现代、文化与科技、中国与世界的重要纽带。

His industrial practices are not only an active exploration of the modernization path of traditional Chinese medicine, but also a proactive response to the "Healthy China" strategy. Just as the military and civilians united to overcome hardships during the Anti-Japanese War, today's health sector equally requires multi-party collaboration and nationwide participation. Tian Guoying has used industrial approaches to make traditional Chinese medicine a vital bridge connecting tradition with modernity, culture with technology, and China with the world.

1. 文化：让中医成为世界的语言

田国营深知，文化是中医药走出去的根基。他以“菜篮公”长寿文化为精神支点，通过文创产品、国际交流、公益传播等方式，让中医文化更具亲和力与时代感。在“一带一路”倡议背景下，他多次参与国际健康文化交流，担任多国驻华使馆中医顾问，让中国本草的声音传得更远。

Tian Guoying deeply understands that culture is the foundation for the global outreach of traditional Chinese medicine. Taking the longevity culture of "Cailan Gong" as his spiritual anchor, he has enhanced the appeal and contemporary relevance of TCM culture through cultural and creative products, international exchanges, and public welfare initiatives. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, he has actively participated in international health and cultural exchanges, serving as a TCM advisor for multiple embassies in China, thereby amplifying the voice of Chinese herbal medicine to reach farther.

他的身上，有一种文化使者的使命感。正如抗战胜利是中华民族走向世界的重要转折，中医药的国际化也是中国文化自信的重要体现。田国营用二十九年的坚持，让世界不仅看到中医药的疗效，更读懂其中蕴含的东方哲学与生命智慧。

He embodies a sense of mission as a cultural envoy. Just as the victory in the War of Resistance against Japan marked a crucial turning point for the Chinese nation's engagement with the world, the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine also serves as a significant manifestation of China's cultural confidence. Through twenty-nine years of dedication, Tian Guoying has not only demonstrated the therapeutic efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine to the world but also revealed the Eastern philosophy and wisdom of life embedded within it.

四、致敬：从抗战精神到本草力量

在纪念抗日战争胜利80周年的庄严时刻，我们回望历史，是为了更好地走向未来。田国营的中医药事业，正是这种精神的当代延续——他以草为本、以药为媒，传递的是一种扎根于土地、生长于文化、奉献于人类的中国力量。

At the solemn moment commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, we look back at history to better move toward the future. Tian Guoying's traditional Chinese medicine career is precisely a contemporary continuation of this spirit—— He uses herbs as the foundation and medicines as the medium, conveying a force rooted in the land, nurtured by culture, and dedicated to humanity.

他说：“中医药是中华民族献给世界的礼物。”而这份礼物，正通过像他这样的传承者与创新者，被越来越多的人看见、接受、珍爱。

"Traditional Chinese medicine is a gift from the Chinese nation to the world," he said. "This gift is being seen, accepted and cherished by more and more people through inheritors and innovators like him."

田国营表示坚持传承精华、守正创新，创新的根本目的就是为了促进中医药学术发展，提高临床疗效。面对常见病、多发病、重大疑难疾病和新发传染病防治需求，我们必须遵循中医药发展规律，做到“传承师古不泥古、创新发展不离宗”，通过传承精华来发展中医药学，突出中医药特色优势，同时吸收科学技术和文明成果，创新中医药理论与实践，服务当代临床防病治病需求，发挥中医药独特优势和作用，为推进健康中国建设和增进人民健康福祉作出贡献。

Tian Guoying stated that adhering to the principle of inheriting essence and upholding innovation is fundamental to promoting the academic development of traditional Chinese medicine and enhancing clinical efficacy. In addressing the prevention and treatment needs for common diseases, frequent illnesses, major complex diseases, and emerging infectious diseases, we must follow the development laws of traditional Chinese medicine by "learning from ancient masters without being bound by tradition, innovating without deviating from the essence." Through preserving the essence, we will advance the development of traditional Chinese medicine, highlight its distinctive advantages, while absorbing scientific achievements and civilizational progress. This will innovate TCM theories and practices to serve contemporary clinical needs in disease prevention and treatment, leverage its unique strengths, and contribute to advancing the Healthy China initiative and improving public health well-being.
